If you have been following me over the past month or so, You would know Marc (my husband) and I did a four week cleanse.  Did,  is the optimal word here!  Yep, we made it the whole four weeks and we are finally done.  Marc lost a whopping 14 pounds, way to go Marc!!!  I took off about five or six.  For me,  it wasn’t about the weight, but a feeling of rejuvenation and well being.  I completely accomplished both.

Marc”s first meal off the cleanse was the second night of Yom Kipper.  Let me preface this by explaining to you non Jewish people,  he had been fasting for 24 hours!  No food or drink.  Usually people will go slow, maybe some juice first?  Some fruit?  A little bagel with cream cheese?  Not Marc,  this was his first bite…

A sweetie at heart, what can I say.

And talking about sweets, this is one of the yummy desserts I made for my family.  This recipe is easy and you can experiment with lots of different favors.

Cake Batter Confetti Candy Bark
 
Ingredients
  • 1 pound of good quality milk chocolate
  • 1 pound of good quality white chocolate
  • 4 teaspoons of yellow cake mix
  • Rainbow sprinkles
Instructions
  1. Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt milk chocolate in a double boiler until smooth.
  3. Spread the melted chocolate on prepared pan and put into fridge to set.
  4. Melt white chocolate in double boiler until smooth, take off heat and stir in cake mix until well  combined.
  5. Spread carefully, but quickly over milk chocolate layer.
  6. Immediately sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles.
  7. Put into fridge to set.  At least 30 minutes.
  8. Cut with sharp knife or break with your hands.  Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
