Caramelized Brussels Sprouts

I usually cook these babies in the oven, but I wanted to try them on the stove top to see if they wouldn’t dry out so much .  Bottom line, this is the way to cook Brussels Sprouts.  Gwyneth Paltrow has this recipe in her cookbook, and yes Gwyneth Paltrow ,the actress,  has a cookbook!  I have mentioned Gweneth’s cookbook before in earlier posts, and yes, I still adore it.  If you are interested in buying a copy this is the one.

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts
  • 1 pound Brussels Sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons good quality olive oil
  • A few pinches of Kosher salt
  • ½ lemon
  1. Steam Brussels Sprouts for seven minutes, I did this in the microwave.
  2. Heat oil in large saute pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add Brussels Sprouts in single layer to pan.
  4. Leave undisturbed for 4 minutes!
  5. Flip over and continue to cook on the other side. Turn the heat down if they are starting to burn.
  6. At the end of cooking, squeeze lemon juice over and season with Kosher salt.
  7. Yummy, Enjoy!!!
