Holy Moly Great Guacamole

IMG_0230Everyone has “the best” guacamole recipe.  I hear it all the time, “Mine is the best”.  Guacamole is a very personal thing.  Some like it with tomato, and some don’t.  Many people like a lot of cilantro, my husband does not.  There is chunky guacamole and creamy guacamole, red onion or white onion.  A few people dare to make it without Serrano or Jalapeno, I would say, why make it at all.  We all like what we like, that’s what makes the world go round.

This guacamole above is THE BEST GUACAMOLE!!, just kidding, but my family does think so.  Try this for your next guacamole craving.

Holy Moly Great Guacamole
  • 4 avocados (make sure they are from Mexico, they are way better)
  • ½ white onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon Mexican oregano, smashed (rub in the palm of your hand)
  • 2 Serrano peppers chopped, keep seeds in for more heat
  • ½ lime, juiced
  • 1-1/2 tsp kosher salt
  1. In a large bowl add avocado, onion, cilantro, oregano, and peppers. Reserve avocado pits!
  2. Smash all ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add lime juice and salt. I taste at this point and add a little more juice or salt if needed.
  4. To store put into bowl along with the pits, they will stop the guacamole from turning brown. Great tip!!!
  5. Enjoy!!!
