Mint Oreo Brownies

December 20, 2012

I am not a writer.

I am not well spoken.

I have no idea how to use my new camera!

I don’t really know the first thing about blogging.

I do enjoy putting my thoughts into words.

I’ve learned how to use spell check and a thesaurus:)

I push all the buttons on my camera until my shot looks good!

I’m not afraid to try.

Next year I am going to try more new things, this feels really good!

My brownies that I made yesterday are a first for me too.  I never tried using mint in a baked good before.  I thought I would personally despise them, but for the sake of blogging I wanted to share a recipe that you could make for your Holiday meal.  Not only did I not hate them, I am totally and completely in love!  These are by far the best brownie I have ever tasted!!!

Mint Oreo Brownies

  • ½ lb. butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

  • ½ package mint Oreos, chopped
  • mini marshmallows
  • crushed peppermint candy (they sell it already crushed for baking)
  1. Melt chocolate and butter together, let cool.
  2. In a large bowl. mix sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  3. Add cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. Stir in flour.
  5. Stir in chopped Oreos.
  6. Pour batter into prepared 9 x 13 pan.
  7. Place mini marshmallows over top, about two cups.
  8. Sprinkle crushed candy next, I used about ¼ cup.
  9. Bake @ 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
  10. Cool completely before cutting.
  11. Actually, cut a small piece to try for yourself when it's still warm! Yummy!!!
