Every year around this time I follow a cleanse called Dr. McCombs Candida Plan.

The first time I did it was the most difficult.  The hardest part for me is to give up drinking!  But I did it for 8, yes 8 weeks.  I felt so amazing that I continue religiously every may.

My recipes over the next couple weeks will most likely be part of my plan with a sprinkling of additions to keep the rest of my family happy.

This recipe with remain in my collection cleanse or no cleanse!!!

Stir Fried Brown Rice with Kale
 
Ingredients
  • ½ cups brown rice
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • ¾ pound kale, stems removed
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 scallions, sliced thin
  • 1 - 2 Tbs. Bragg's amino acid (this is a soy sauce alternative, you can substitute soy sauce)
Instructions
  1. Put rice and 3 cups water in saucepan, bring to a boil then reduce heat to low and cover.  Cook 50 minutes.
  2. Cut the Kale in half lengthwise and cut crosswise into thin ribbons.  Steam Kale for 7 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in large saute pan over medium-low heat.  Add garlic and cook, stirring, for two minutes, be careful not to brown the garlic.  Raise the heat to medium and add steamed kale and scallions.  Cook for 2 minutes, then add rice and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring.  Add Bragg's or soy sauce and cook for 30 seconds.
